The Challenge
Meridian Pharma Distribution had a board-approved CSR budget but no coherent strategy. The previous two years had seen sporadic donations to local charities with no thematic focus and no way to measure or report impact. When a major hospital group asked for evidence of community commitment during a tender process, Meridian had nothing structured to show.
What We Built
We ran a structured discovery phase to identify where Meridian's supply chain and distribution reach intersected with genuine community health gaps. The output was a focused programme — not a scatter-gun of causes, but one coherent initiative: improving medication access in four underserved areas within Meridian's operating geography.
Deliverables included:
- Programme design document with three-year roadmap
- Clinic partnership framework and selection criteria
- Outcomes measurement model aligned to standard social value metrics
- Reporting templates for investor and tender use
The Outcome
Meridian launched the programme and reached 2,800 beneficiaries in the first operational year across four clinic partnerships. The outcomes framework was incorporated into their next major tender submission — the first time they could quantify social value rather than describe intent. The tender was won.
